Transaction Authorization Code (TAC)
Included with your software is a Software Key Request Card containing a
Transaction Authorization Code (TAC). A TAC is a unique transaction code
designed to allow you to obtain a license key electronically. The information
below answers any questions you have in generating a license key for this TAC.

(TAC) is a unique transaction code designed to allow you to obtain a license
key electronically.
What does PENDING
LICENSES Mean?
You enter a TAC but do not
generate the license key; the TAC stays on the account in a pending state.
What does VIEW
EXISTING LICENSES Mean?
You enter your TAC to
generate a license key. All license keys generated for the account will be
visible to the user account.
Based on your login registration, you have visibility and access to all your
generated license keys. From this screen, you can retrieve previously generated
license keys if needed.
Home Page:
The Home page is the starting page where you manage your license keys.
Help Page:
The Help page provides a reference to the VisualSAN and VisualSRM licensing
applications.
Log Out:
The Log out button logs you out of the website.
How to find your TAC
Your software includes the Software Key Request Card that provides the TAC and
instructions for obtaining software keys if you cannot find your TAC, please
contact the EMC Software Refresh Group, as follows:

Please have ready your software Serial Number, Clarify Site ID, or company name
in order to locate your TAC.
How to find your MAC Address ***Note: This should be done at the server you are installing the
product on.
1. Open a command prompt (Start, run, enter cmd).
> 2. At the prompt, enter the following command and parameters, and press
enter.
ipconfig /all
You will see output similar to the following.
The MAC address is in the Physical Address line. In the example above, the
physical address is 00-06-5B-98-98-09.
How to register for a Licenselink
Account
1. Log into: http://licenses.emc.com/index.html
,select the product you are licensing then click REGISTER
2. Fill in the required fields (shown with an asterisk * ). You will also be
asked to create a User Name and Password. Please keep a record of your user
name and password.
3. Click SUBMIT
If you lose your user name and/or password, contact the EMC Software Refresh

How to obtain a License key using your TAC
After registering, the login page appears.
Click LOGIN
(your username and password will be already filled in).
From the Home page, enter your Transaction Authorization Code (TAC).
Click SUBMIT
What to do with your License key
Once your license key is generated it is displayed on your screen with
installation instructions. There are two options to save your key:
E-mail -
the email address of the account user displays in the Send to field. Click
Email and the license key is automatically sent to the user’s email address.
Save to File - the save file button allows you to save the
license keys in a Word format (.doc) to the specified location. The file must
be saved in a .doc format.
What to do if you need to re-host your key
to another MAC address
If you need to re-host your software from one machine to another and your key
is tied to your machine via a MAC address or other machine specific item, you
may need to request "ReHosting" of your key.
To request a rehost, please fill out the attached form and return it to EMC
Customer service. You should receive notification within 24 hours that your
access code has been reset and you can re-submit it to the License Management
system to generate a new key.
